Loren's Badass Chick

Susan & Beth

This week's Badass Chicks are Susan Chaityn Lebovits & Beth Freeman, creators of Boston Cancer Support.

In 2014, a friend of Susan's was diagnosed with cancer, and Susan noticed that it was extremely hard for her friend to find information about all of the different organizations that offer support to cancer patients. So, Susan went to work building Boston Cancer Support, which basically aggregates all of the different cancer resources around Massachusetts into one easy, organized web site. As soon as Beth saw Susan's work, she was hooked on helping and the two have been running the show together ever since.

Not only do Susan and Beth offer a great place for patients to find information to help them through treatment, but they've brilliantly partnered with Lyft to offer a Treatment Transport Program which offers free rides for patients going to and from treatment. They also have created the Cancer Collaborative, which allows for health care professionals to get together and talk about the needs of their patients Susan & Beth work from there to alleviate patients' challenges -- which is exactly how the Treatment Transport Program was born. Pretty cool! (They have a Cancer Collaborative meeting coming up in Worcestor this December... go to their web site - above - to learn more.)

I love that Susan and Beth do everything they can to make it easier for cancer patients to keep their lives running as smoothly as possible during treatment.
