Rachel & Rosie

This week's Badass Chick is Rachel Geller, a Certified Cat Behaviorist who helps save over 400 cats each year for FREE.

Growing up in rural Maine, Rachel always managed to find stray cats, and found that she had a real connection with them. In 2012, Rachel retired from education and decided to focus her attention on her longtime love of furry friends.

She got certified has a cat behaviorist, and Rachel then created a cat behavior and retention program: it basically allows her to go into people's homes and work with their cats to fix behavior issues, rather than the cats ending up in a shelter. Within six months, her program was recognized by the Humane Society of the US as a model program and Rachel was soon asked to help shelters across the US set up their own programs.

Over the last five years, Rachel has saved over 400 cats per year -- she's actually reaching 500 this year! -- and she has no plans to stop. The best part is that she does it for free, because she firmly believes that people should be able to have access to the help that their kitties deserve.
