Loren's Badass Chick

Pam Caira

This week's Badass Chick is Pamela Caira, owner of Step by Step Dance Studio in Waltham.

For the last two decades, Pamela has been raising money for local children's charities with her bi-annual winter benefit shows. Two years ago she came across the Andrea Rizzo Foundation which provides dance therapy for children in hospitals, and Pamela was immediately interested in how she could do more. So she did some research and found out that Lesley University offers a Bachelor's of Science in Expressive Arts Therapy, and she went for it!

Not only did Pamela get her BS while working as a business owner and also taking care of her two children, but she has no plans to stop: she's going back for her Master's in Dance Movement Therapy this August. Her ultimate goal is to help as many populations experiencing trauma as possible, using dance and movement therapy as a form of healing.

I love that Pamela not only has an entrepreneurial spirit, but she wasn't afraid to go back to school as an adult to further her education. She somehow found the time and I know that so many deserving kids are going to benefit from all of her hard work!
