I am out on maternity leave, but each week I have a new Badass Chick for you! If you have any recommendations for Badass Chick, please email me when I return on the air. In the mean time, be sure to follow me on social @LorenRaye and I'll be back before you know it!

This week's Badass Chick is Jacquelyn Dole of Acton, owner of The Parlor Ice Cream Company

Jacquelyn was working one day at Ben & Jerry's when the person who usually decorates the cakes called in sick, so she had to do it herself. She said it was the most fun she'd had at work, and she immediately knew that this was her calling.

She enrolled in culinary school, worked in bakeries and restaurants and eventually had to work part-time at an ice cream shop to make ends meet. Jacqueline appeared on an episode of Guy's Grocery Games and when they asked her what she would do with the money if she won, it was clear to her that she wanted to start her own ice cream company.

Even though she lost the competition, she enrolled in business school and began making her own ice cream and selling it wholesale. Just three years later, restaurants are approaching her to make custom ice cream for them. Jacqueline is selling in specialty grocery stores and restaurants all across Massachusetts and Maine. Her next goal is to open a brick and mortar shop, so be on the lookout for that soon!
