Loren's Badass Chick

Emily Ryan Pochman

I am out on maternity leave, but each week I have a new Badass Chick for you! If you have any recommendations for Badass Chick, please email me when I return to the air. In the mean time, be sure to follow me on social @LorenRaye and I'll be back before you know it!

This week's Badass Chick is Emily Ryan Pochman, CEO of Epoch Development which is a consulting firm for small non-profit organizations.

Emily is so incredibly cool and I loved getting to know her. Growing up, Emily was born into a family that truly valued service. While her family wasn't the family that could donate a lot of their extra income, they were a family that could donate their extra time. Emily ended up going to Boston College and completed tons of service trips during her time there. It comes as no surprise, then, that Emily would come to find herself working for Share Our Strength, which works to end childhood hunger and poverty.

Throughout her time at Share our Strength and also from other experiences along the way like working for national sports teams, Emily really honed her philanthropic skills and decided to step out on her own. The year, she left created Epoch Development, where she serves as a consultant for smaller non-profits and helps in their development.

I think it's so awesome that Emily is taking all of her knowledge and really trying to make an impact by connecting with as many charities as she can. What a great way to give back to the world while also earn a living!
