Alex Trebek has just announced that he will go back on chemotherapy to treat his stage 4 pancreatic cancer, just weeks after he suggested he was nearing remission.

"This past summer, because I was making such good progress, we thought I was finished with chemo," Trebek stated in a video message. "That was a bit premature and certainly over-optimistic."

"I began immunotherapy but that didn't go very well at all. My numbers went south, drastically and quickly," he said.

"It appears I will be having more chemo treatments ahead of me," he told viewers

The legendary host has an optimistic attitude since his treatments had good results the first time around.

He ends the video asking fans to keep him in "good thoughts and prayers", and safe to say we all will be!
