Janet Jackson took one of her biggest hits back to school on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee performed “Runaway” in a way that it’s safe to say she never had before. Fallon and The Roots provided the backing track using classroom instruments like a xylophone, toy horns and kazoo. It’s a recurring segment on the late-night show and Jackson was the latest to give it a shot.

“Runaway” was a new song that was included on Jackson’s 1995 greatest hits album, Design of a Decade: 1986-1996. The track peaked at #3 on the Billboard 100 and spent 24 weeks on the chart.

Jackson is preparing to release her first studio album in five years along with a world tour. “I’ve heard all your wishes and now from my lips to your ears. I’m working on my new album and going on a brand new world tour this summer! Both titled Black Diamond,” she announced on Instagram.

There is no release date yet for the album, but the tour begins in June and you can buy tickets here. Jackson plans a special performance of her landmark 1989 album, Rhythm Nation, during the tour.
