Loren's Badass Chick: Erica Rhodes

Comedian and actor from Newton, Mass.

Loren's Badass Chick

This week's Badass Chick is Erica Rhodes, a comedian originally from Newton who is competing on Bring the Funny this Tuesday night.

Erica started performing at the age of 10, when she became an actor on a weekly radio variety show called A Prairie Home Companion. After she studied acting in New York, she performed in the theater and eventually moved to LA to become an actress. After some indie projects and horror films, Erica wasn't breaking through the way she'd hoped. Her manager suggested she try stand up, so one day after a particularly terrible audition for Parks and Recreation, she hopped on stage and just gave it a whirl.

She loved it.

It took her about two years before she found her voice, and that voice has since led her to projects like Modern Family, New Girl and now as a competitor on Bring the Funny, hosted by Keenan Thompson, Chrissy Teigen and Jeff Foxworthy. Erica credits not being afraid of failure as part of her success, and in fact thinks that failure is what led her to where she is now. Her episode will air this Tuesday at 10p on NBC, so be sure to check her out!
