This week's Badass Chick is Caitlin O'Leary, Achievement Network's 2019 Teacher of the Year.

Teaching is in Caitlin's blood. Her mom was a teacher, and Caitlin always knew that she herself wanted to become a teacher, too. Caitlin studied theater and English at Suffolk University and eventually got a job at Sacred Heart School in Roslindale, which is not only the same school that she went to as a kid, but also the same school that her mom teaches at now. How cool!

Caitlin was recognized by ANet for her ability to reach students of all levels and be an agent of change for eliminating educational inequity. This is her eighth year teaching, and Caitlin beat out 34 other teachers in New England to receive this honor. Her motto is very simple: "Dream Big." She wants kids to know that THEY were her big dream, too. I love that!

Loren's Badass Chick of the Week highlights local women and girls giving back to the community, following their passion and/or breaking stereotypes. If YOU have a Badass Chick you want to see highlighted, email Loren@1033ampradio.com!
