This week’s Badass Chick is Talia Mango, a student running the Boston Marathon to raise funds for the Michael Lisnow Respite Center.
Talia is a graduate student at Boston College studying severe & multiple disabilities, specializing in deaf/blindness. During undergrad, Talia was a student teacher at Perkins School for the Blind and really fell in love with the idea of supporting people with disabilities. So, she went back to school and narrowed her focus. She graduates in May and has goals of being a classroom specialist… but before she gets her diploma, she’ll be running the Boston Marathon to raise $7500 for the Michael Lisnow Respite Center, which offers support and care to adults and children with disabilities, as well as their family members.
Talia’s made it her life mission to support those people who need some extra help in living their best lives, and I love that. She’s hosting a fundraiser in Cambridge on February 10th if you’re interested in supporting her goal — or, you can check out her funding page here.
