This week’s Badass Chicks are Sarah, Rebecca, Emily and Rachel Pierce of 4GoodVibes.
The Pierce sisters grew up in the Medford/Somerville area and were raised by awesome, encouraging parents. As little kids, it was instilled in them to think outside the box, to search for alternatives and to value creativity. Their mom taught them how to make their own things instead of buying mainstream things at big box stores and, as a two-time cancer fighter, she also taught them that there’s no time like the present to start doing what you love — because you only have a finite amount of time on this earth. So it’s no surprise that this fall, the girls decided to fulfill their dream of opening their own gift shop in Somerville.
4GoodVibes is a place that sells hand-crafted items from almost 100 local vendors. The name is not only a reflection of the store, but of the four girls themselves: the store’s contents celebrate positivity, happiness and self-discovery. They’ve got some REALLY cute stuff in the store (I already bought three things when I swung by their grand opening the first day!) and it’s a perfect place to pick up a special something for someone who is special to you this holiday season!
I love that the girls are following their passion and taking a big leap by opening their own business!
Loren’s Badass Chick of the Week highlights local women and girls giving back to the community, following their passion and/or breaking stereotypes. If YOU have a Badass Chick you want to see highlighted, email Loren@1033ampradio.com!
