Anthony “The Mooch” Scarmucci is out. In the latest shakeup to rock Donald Trump‘s embattled White House, the loud-mouthed communications director was relieved of his post on Monday morning (Jul. 31). Scaramucci took the role only 10 days earlier on July 21st, and his arrival led to the departures of former press secretary Sean Spicer, and Reince Priebus, the president’s first chief of staff.
Scaramucci, who bragged about reporting directly to the president, not newly minted chief of staff, John F. Kelly, lasted merely 10 days in the West Wing. Here are three celebrity marriages that were somehow shorter than The Mooch’s time in the White House.
Cher and Gregg Allman: 9 Days
Cher married rockstar husband Gregg Allman on June 30, 1975, just four days after divorcing her longtime partner Sonny Bono. Cher would go on to file for divorce from Allman nine days later due to the musician’s alcohol and drug problems. The tumultuous duo would soon reconcile, and even have a son together, Elijah Blue, in 1976, before finalizing their divorce in 1979.
Carmen Electra and Dennis Rodman: 9 Days
After a bender-of-a-night in Las Vegas, actress and model Carmen Electra married NBA star Dennis Rodman on November 14, 1998. Rodman would go on to file for an annulment just nine days later, stating that he was intoxicated when they said their vows. The couple would attempt to reconcile later in the year, before ultimately calling it quits in April of ’99.
Britney Spears and Jason Allen Alexander: 55 Hours
Briney Spears‘ shotgun wedding to childhood friend Jason Alexander lasted all of 55 hours in January of 2004 before a judge granted the couple an annulment citing Spears “lacked understanding of her actions.” Spears would go on to meet and marry the father of her two children, Kevin Federline, the next year – filing for divorce 25 months later.
