This week’s Badass Chick is Emily McLaughin, creator of Stay Healthy, Stay Happy.
Emily’s business began back in college when she had to create a blog/web site for her journalism class at UMass. Around the same time, she began teaching fitness classes and really started to love world she was immersing herself in.
After college, Emily got a 9-5 job but really wanted to continue her side hustle of healthy living… so she trained to become a yoga teacher and truly began to live her life mindfully, with intent and with simplicity. She expanded her Stay Healthy, Stay Happy brand to include not only yoga and zumba instruction, but also recipe-sharing, meal-prepping services and clean eating cooking demonstrations. (Seriously – just look for Emily around Boston and I promise you will find her.)
Emily is also a Kick It by Eliza fitness instructor and is embarking on an incredible journey with Eliza and other members of their team; next Thursday, they fly to Africa to climb Mount Kilimanjaro for the Flying Kites Organization, which provides underprivileged children with education. Emily will be volunteering in the school for three days before embarking on a 7-day hike up and down Mount Kilimanjaro.
I love that Emily (and the Kick It family!) are taking such a leap out of their comfort zones to not only help these children, but also to challenge themselves mentally and physically. What a badass thing to do!
