Titled “1-800-273-8255,” the song serves as a musical advertisement for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, which shares the same number.

A soothing bed of slippery guitar work, Rhodes piano, and relaxed beats back up Logic’s simple hook. “I’ve been on the low / I been taking my time,” the MC sings. “I feel like I’m out of my mind / It feel like my life ain’t mine / Who can relate?”

As the song progresses, Logic opens up about his own struggles with self-worth, explaining the thought process that could lead to taking one’s own life. “And my life don’t even matter, I know it I know it / I know I’m hurting deep down, but can’t show it,” he continues as the song shifts gears.

Soon the string section takes over, led by Alessia Cara’s delicate vocals. “I finally wanna be alive / I don’t wanna die today,” sing the pair over a soaring orchestra.

Rising powerhouse Khalid delivers the most emotional moment of the tune as he pleads, “I don’t wanna cry anymore / I wanna feel alive / I don’t even wanna die anymore.”
