This week’s Badass Chick is Ashley Brady of Halifax, creator of Moms of the South Shore Facebook group which helps other families in the area.

With over 12,500 members, Ashley has created a really supportive culture within the Moms of the South Shore Facebook group. Ashley is a mother to three kids and goes above and beyond simply facilitating the Facebook group. When she hears of a family in need, she springs into action to help them out.

Earlier this year, Ashley learned of a fellow mother whose son was experiencing medical issues, and the family was having financial trouble as well. Within five days, Ashley organized the moms and raised over $5,000. They also donated a year’s supply of diapers, restaurant gift cards and other items to help the family out. This past Christmas, Ashley teamed up with Santa and his helpers to help bring gifts to over 100 kids in need, and every month she organizes an Autism-friendly day at the barber shop she works at so that kids with autism can have a comfortable haircut experience.

Ashley has really grasped what it means to be a Badass Chick and give back to those in her community, and I absolutely love that.

Loren’s Badass Chick of the Week highlights local women and girls giving back to the community, following their passion and/or breaking stereotypes. If YOU have a Badass Chick you want to see highlighted, email Loren@1033ampradio.com!
