The Chainsmokers think Lady Gaga is a “great artist” but they’re not too fond of her newest single “Perfect Illusion.” ‘

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Alex Pall and Drew Taggart talked about their fondness for other artists, especially Chris Martin. Martin wanted to record with the boys one night, which meant Pall had to stand-up his girlfriend, which he never does because he doesn’t like working past sundown.

“The Coldplay frontman “wanted to start after he put his kids to bed” – and, well, because it was Martin and Coldplay are “the fucking greatest, dude.” They stated that the song they created is “one of the dopest songs we’ve ever written.”

“At the steakhouse, a label rep asks what they think about Lady Gaga’s single “Perfect Illusion” and they gave their honest opinion about it. “‘It sucks,’ Pall says. Taggart, more diplomatic, says, ‘She’s a great artist – like, Jeff Koons made a sculpture of her…'” Pall went on to acknowledge the talent that worked on the song by stating “a lot of talented people worked on that song. But…”
