Will we hear more Young Money music soon?

By Hayden Wright

Lil Wayne turned 34 yesterday and Drake took to Instagram to wish his Young Money boss a happy birthday. Though inactivity, departures, and the meteoric rise of Drake and Nicki Minaj have cast doubt on whether Young Money exists, as such, in 2016, Drake seemed to set the record straight: “Thanks for believing in all of us when you didn’t have to. YM we still alive.”

Drake tagged Minaj, Mack Maine, and Lil Twist in the post. Lately, Wayne has been promoting Young Money side projects like YM Sports, while Drake’s Views (a Young Money Entertainment release) has been a sales and streaming juggernaut of the year. As a collective, YM’s last credited tracks dropped in 2014.

It’s impossible to say whether Drake’s Instagram means more Young Money music is immediately on the way, but it should certainly stir some hope that the gang can get back together soon.
