Loren’s Badass Chick: Ashley Haseotes

This week’s Badass Chick is Ashley Haseotes, co-founder of One Mission which helps pediatric cancer patients and their families get through the battle.

Ashley’s son was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia at just seven months old. She and her husband spent six months at Boston Children’s Hospital, and thankfully, their son is now cancer free! It was during their battle that Ashley and her husband vowed that, once their son was better, they would make life easier for other fighting families. The two created One Mission, which focuses on the day-to-day needs of children and their families. For example, One Mission will completely redecorate a child’s hospital room to make it feel more like home, or they will send their music therapist to work with the kids during their stay. They even offer yoga for kids and relaxation events for caregivers to help lighten the load on everyone.

One of One Missions’ biggest fundraisers is the Buzz Off which took place last weekend at Gillette stadium where people shave their head in solidarity with the children and raise money in the following months. Gronk is a huge supporter of the event and has participated the last five years. One Mission is also the beneficiary of the Harvard Pilgrim Finish at the 50 at Gillette stadium, which means a portion of the proceeds from each race entry will be donated to One Mission. I love that Ashley and her husband were able to turn such a difficult part of their lives into something so spectacular, and help other families who need it most.
