This week’s Badass Chicks are a group of Weymouth-based women at a senior center who meet every Tuesday to knit for charity.
Each week for the past 15 years, several dozen women between 60 and 90 years old come together to socialize and knit for those in need. And they knit a lot. Last year alone, they donated 600 hats and 150 afghans which went to homeless shelters, hospitals, babies and veterans. The ladies are already on a roll for this year, too. They just shipped out 15 bags of knitted items to homeless shelters and veterans. In total, 10 different charities and countless people benefit from their hard work.
I love that these women are donating their talents to such a great cause, and for that, they are my Badass Chicks of the Week!
