This week’s Badass Chick is Jen Welter, the first female to be a part of the NFL coaching staff.
The Boston College grad has her masters in sports psychology and her doctorate in psychology. She’s played football professionally for 14 years, and not just in a league for women: she’s played against the men, too. Jen has worked as an assistant coach before, but not for the NFL. And this summer, she will take the field as a training coach intern with the Arizona Cardinals. She’ll be a part of the team for training camp and pre-season, and this opens the door to many other opportunities within the NFL – not just for Jen, but hopefully for other women, too.
I love that Jen is breaking gender stereotypes and ploughing through that glass ceiling! Jen Welter is my Badass Chick of the Week!
