This week’s Badass Chick is actually a group of little chicks: the 14 members of Girl Scout Troop #75455. As a former Girl Scout myself, I am very proud of these little ladies!
Based in Revere, these fourth and fifth grade girls are learning what it takes to be outstanding members of society. In addition to completing their schoolwork, these girls have regularly scheduled meetings and continuously think about giving back to others. They’ve worked at food pantries (and put together over 300 bags of food!), organized toy drives, prepared Halloween bags for Rosie’s Place and are even gearing up to work with an animal shelter in the near future.
The theme of this year is “Responsibility and Giving Back,” and these ladies certainly are stepping up to the plate! In fact, it seems as though they’ve understood this concept for a while now: a few years ago, they heard about a fellow Girl Scout in New Jersey who lost everything during Hurricane Sandy, and the girls bought her a bicycle with the extra cookie money they had made that year. Currently, the girls are working hard to raise money for a trip to New Hampshire.
A big “you rock!” to Girl Scout Troop #75455, my Badass Chicks of the Week!
