The lineup for this year’s Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival is officially out, and many fans residing in the Boston area are so excited about it they have already decided they will travel 1,000+ miles to catch the music in Manchester, Tenn.

Bonnaroo is always one of the most highly anticipated music festivals, and for good reason. It is always four straight days of great live music from as wide a variety of styles as you can imagine. Paul McCartney, Mumford & Sons and Tom Petty are this year’s headliners.

Hip-hop is represented excellently this year, with the Wu-Tang Clan, Nas, Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Death Grips among the performers. Pretty Lights leads the way for EDM musicians likely to rock the late-night crowd.

Boston has one high-profile representative on the lineup: Emerson boys Passion Pit are among the festival’s big-name pop acts. Other indie bands to highlight are The National, The xx, Grizzly Bear, Animal Collective, Beach House, Tame Impala, Portugal. The Man, Local Natives, Matt & Kim and Dirty Projectors.

And if you’re more into folk-related music, along with Mumford & Sons we got The Lumineers, Of Monsters And Men, Cat Power, and Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes.

While most Boston-area reactions on Twitter were highly positive, some were sad – but only because they can’t make it…

…While others have admitted they would do horrendous things just to be there.

But mostly, people are just pumped to go and in some cases are already planning their trip.
